Human And Nature
Sojourn
All that encompasses the creative mind and body, courage, love, beauty, and fear, is our draw to what feels safe, secure, or enticing as the horizon line of change and chance. It is our inherent pull to be storytellers, that feeds our desire toward the bigger world: myths, traditions, and the unknown human psyche. Our creative prowess to create the new, and covet the old we stand upon. Through courage, we navigate the equanimity of beauty and the ugly: an indexical signifier of living one’s life. It is the creative endeavor that documents our doings, love, destruction, and its opposite terrains. It is through the creative mind, we build our way, of splintered paths, and mazes.
This, this desired dream.
This.
This here.
Me.
Digging And Filling In
The creative mind digs deep the terrain of the self, pulling at weeds and roots. Breaking stones for light to come in. It is through the creative endeavor that the self is heard, questioning as it is answering, by way of beauty, mark-making, and sound.
This excavation, this mining of the self, is post Industrial Revolution effect, digging, sifting and filling back in. Defining and discovering who we are, through material, making and storytelling. By filling in, we regrow, the roots that bind who we are. This is history, and present making, qualifying the new now, and the next. To define and discover who we are, we dig and fill in, by way of the creative mind, by way of beauty.
Closer To Ourselves
“Through beauty we see ourselves, through the hand created we attempt to define.”
It is, by no other reason than our need to create, and our curiosity that moves us forward, resolving our current issues, while bringing us closer to ourselves: making meaning of the vastness of life and being human. Through beauty we see ourselves, through the hand created we attempt to define. Curiosity is our pull, creativity our push to make real the ephemeral self.
To live in the present is to allow for a beautiful future, one of possibility brought forth through the creative mind and the impassioned heart, sowing the seeds of a new now.
